Trevignano Romano in a nutshell
Located on the shores of LAKE BRACCIANO, away from the smog of large
cities and equidistantly situated between Rome (30 minutes) and the
Mediterranean Sea (20 minutes), Trevignano is situated in the very
heart of the Protected National Natural Park of Lake Bracciano, at
the northern doorstep or the Capital. The village’s medieval
historic centre and its Etruscan museum are the pride of the village.
Long sunny beaches, tall shady trees, gentle round-top hills and
majestic Mount Rocca Romana, cuddly frame the lake . The area’s
sweet climate in every season, and the golden wheat fields, the
vivid rust brown fertile soil, and the century-old trees, surround
and embrace the limpid lake waters. The Lake is strictly protected
against all kinds of pollution, as it represents the Capital’s main
drinking water reservoir. In 1998, because of its luxuriant
vegetation and its typical fauna, the whole area of Lake Bracciano
where Trevignano is located, has been declared PROTECTED NATIONAL
NATURAL PARK. Lake Bracciano occupies an area of 57 km2, is 160
meters deep and has a perimeter of 33 km. Furthermore, Trevignano
offers innumerable cultural and sporting activities, and bulges with
restaurants, pubs, pizza houses and lake shore cafés. They all offer
a romantic atmosphere and exquisite Italian foods and wines. To them,
like everywhere else in Italy, EATING IS AN ART.
